The free checker

The free charge checker at /check runs entirely in your browser. The details you enter are stored temporarily in your browser's session storage so they can be shown on the results page, and are not transmitted to or stored on our servers. This data is cleared when you close your browser tab or clear your browsing data.

Future services

If we introduce a paid review service, or other features that involve submitting information such as photographs or documents to us, this policy will be updated to explain what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and your rights over it before that feature is made available.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, enabled directly at the Cloudflare level for this domain, to understand overall traffic — for example, how many people visit, which pages are read, and roughly where visitors are located. Cloudflare automatically includes the measurement script as part of serving the site; we haven't added any separate analytics code of our own. Cloudflare states that this service does not use cookies or any other client-side storage, does not fingerprint devices, and does not track individual visitors across sites or over time. We never send anything you type into the checker — your lease company, registration, vehicle details, charge descriptions or amounts — to Cloudflare Web Analytics or anywhere else; the checker runs entirely in your browser, as described above.

Because this analytics method doesn't store anything on your device or identify you individually, we don't believe it requires a cookie consent banner under UK rules on cookies and similar technologies — but this is general information, not legal advice, and we'll revisit it if that changes. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any third-party tracking tool.

Your rights

Once we process personal data beyond what's described above, you will have rights under UK data protection law, including the right to access, correct or request deletion of your data, and the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) atico.org.uk.
